Sustainability Victoria Award for Best Film
This is the major award. Prizemoney will be given to the overall best film as voted by the Future Shots judges.
Melbourne Water's Water-Smart Cities Award
How can we make Melbourne a water-smart city? There is no single answer, no magic bullet to solving Melbourne's water problems. We need lots of ideas!
With more people living and working in Melbourne and less rain, now's the time to think differently about how we manage one of our most precious resources. Your challenge is to make a film exploring ways to ensure a future water supply for Melbourne or wherever you live in Victoria.
When making your film, consider how water impacts the way we live, work and play. How can we be smarter about the way we use, manage, treat, protect and conserve water? Maybe you'd like to highlight what water-smart cities of the future look like. You could film places, programs or what people will be doing in a water-smart city. Where will water come from, what source of water will we use in our homes, in our parks, how will we value our rivers and creeks, what relationship will we have with water?
Inform us, educate us, inspire us!
Waste-Free Victoria Award sponsored by Metropolitan Waste Management Group and Visy
Anything has the potential to become waste if it’s no longer valued or used by us. This award goes to the best film by a young Victorian team or individual aged 25 or under that best tackles the theme of waste and sustainability. Here are some questions you might use to guide and inspire you:
- Look around you – what of kind waste can you find?
- How is waste created?
- How can waste be reduced?
- How can we stop old and unwanted things becoming waste?
- Where does waste end up?
- Why is waste a problem?
