


- Future Shots Film Challenge (the challenge), produced by Global Vision Media and principally sponsored by Sustainability Victoria, will run for the second year in a row in Victoria, Australia, from 26 July - 15 November 2010.
- The challenge is open to all Victorian residents aged 25 years and under on 15 November 2010.
- Entry to the challenge is free.
- Entry is open to films made by individuals, teams and school groups.
- Schools entering the competition should agree to apply the normal school guidelines appropriate to supervision and behaviour of students during the production of their video.
- Any genre is acceptable.
- Any type of camera or video device may be used.
- An online application form must be submitted for all entries.
- Entries may be submitted online or via post/hand-delivery.
If submitting online, the following formats are accepted: Quicktime movie, MPEG 1,2,4, flv, avi, wmv, ppt, pps, ppz, wp3

- Delivered entries must be marked clearly with film name and entrant details.
- The award winning and some selected finalists' films will be screened at the Future Shots awards night held in Melbourne on December 15, 2010.
- The shortlisted and winning films will be announced on the website www.futureshots.com.au
- The winning films from the awards night will be posted on www.futureshots.com.au and also on websites of major project partners.
- A selection of the top Future Shots films will be streamed on the websites of Future Shots and its sponsorship partners for at least one year after the awards night.
- Entrants must agree with the competition rules and guidelines in order to submit an entry to the challenge.
- Finalists will be allocated tickets to the Future Shots awards night.
- Along with their film entry, filmmakers are asked to submit two .jpg photos: one still from the film and one image of the director or team. Images can be emailed to info@futureshots.com.au
- It's a good idea to complete the checklist at the bottom of this page to ensure you have met all the entry requirements.

- Each film must be conceived and produced by persons aged 25 or under and living in Victoria on 15 November 2010.
- Entries must clearly address the theme of sustainability.
- AGE CONSENT: Submissions by individuals under 18 years and teams with any member under 18 years must print and complete a signed parental consent form which must be submitted to Future Shots by 15 November. Consent forms can be scanned and emailed to info@futureshots.com.au or faxed (please contact Future Shots for fax number).
- CAST CONSENT: Each entry must have a written release form (download) granting the filmmaker permission to use the images and voices of each person who appears in the film. Films selected in the shortlist will be asked to show their release forms in order to confirm their screening at the awards night.
- MUSIC CONSENT: Each entry must have a written release form (download) granting permission to use any music that appears in the film (including incidental background music). It is permissible to use royalty free music. Entrants are encouraged to work with local musicians to write and create music for the films. Films selected in shortlist of finalists will be asked to show their music release forms in order to confirm their screening at the awards night.
- Films can be no longer then three minutes excluding credits.
- Credits must be no longer than 60 seconds.
- All entries must be submitted by 5pm 15 November 2010.
- All entries (regardless of submission method) must complete an online application form by 5pm 15 November 2010.
- Entries will be judged in the category of the eldest team member.
- Entries submitted by post or delivery must be accompanied by a printed copy of the online application form and include the unique receipt number generated by the online application form.
- By submitting your film to the challenge, the filmmaker retains full copyright of the work including the right to copy, screen, show, exhibit, telecast, broadcast, advertise, market, exploit and disseminate the film and any portion of it throughout the world via any medium (existing or to be invented) and to sell, license and assign any or all of the foregoing rights to a third party.
- By submitting your film to the challenge the filmmaker grants Future Shots the following non-exclusive rights to the film in perpetuity: to copy, screen, show, exhibit, telecast, broadcast, advertise, market, exploit and disseminate the film and any portion of it throughout the world via any medium (existing or to be invented) and to sell, license and assign any or all of the foregoing rights to a third party.
- The challenge shall have the right to use the film and any portion of it to advertise, promote, publicise the challenge and its sponsors in any manner, via any medium, at anytime.
- Films must be suitable for publication to people aged under 15 years, contain no obscene or indecent material, and not contain any defamatory content.
- Films submitted online that are selected to screen in the shortlist of films at the awards night must be able to submit a higher quality format suitable (DEFINE formats) for theatrical screening by 25 November.
- Prizes are not negotiable or transferable. The decision of the judges is final.
- The challenge will not return materials submitted by post or delivery.
- The entrant indemnifies the competition organisers from any loss, injury or damage that may occur in the production of their video.
- Entrants must agree to the official rules to submit an entry.
